Luxurious and elegant 1950's gentlemen's Movado wristwatch. This is a super Movado manual wind watch, with a case made by the famous firm of Francois Borgel. The case is made of stainless steel. Borgel supplied cases to a number of firms in the 1940s and 50s, most notably Pate Philippe. They were specialists in creating waterproof cases with screw-down case backs. This watch has an inner dust cover. The original dial is in great condition. A beautiful cream-colored dial with metallic blue hour, minute, and second hands with gold-tone numbers & markers accompany the steel case. Its acrylic crystal is in great condition. The dial is signed Movado underneath 12 o'clock and SWITZERLAND underneath 6 o'clock. The inside case is marked F.B. BREVET, BRIT PAT. 385 509, STAINLESS STEEL, MOVADO FACTORIES SWITZERLAND 0185533, 11730. This watch is a manual hand-wind 15 jewel #150MN movement. Between 12 o'clock lugs stamped MOVADO FACTORIES SWITZERLAND at 6 o'clock stamped 0185533. A black genuine leather band with a silver-toned buckle compliments this watch. It measures 39mm lug to lug, 28.4mm in diameter, and 11.7mm thick. This watch has been serviced and comes with a one-year warranty.
